Garden by Irfan Ajvazi Explore Mondoir Studio Medium: Acrylic on paper Dimensions: 31 x 31 cm Year: 2024 Price: $400.00 USD Status: available Garden 31x31 cm crayons on paper 2024 Why collect this work?A seated figure is compressed between a broad black foreground and the tall black chair, while pale horizontal bands open across the garden beyond. This contrast turns an ordinary table scene into a precise tension between enclosure and distance. The artist profile reports Ajvazi’s interest in overlooked everyday moments. Here, that concern is carried by a spare grouping of figure, mug, dark notebook and red pencil rather than by a resolved story. The turned head overlaps green foliage, and the face remains unseen. Cropped furniture, sloping tabletop edges and loosely bounded colour fields keep the setting legible while making its depth uncertain. The catalogue conflicts, describing crayons on paper in one field and acrylic on paper in another. In the photograph, opaque black shapes oppose directional coloured marks, letting weight and quick notation coexist without confirming the exact materials or process. At 31 centimetres square, Garden concentrates a large spatial question within a modest format: how a garden can appear expansive while the body at its centre remains tightly framed.
