Golden Ballerina This series draws from the precision and expressive discipline of classical ballet. A ballerina is physically painted—by hand—in metallic gold body paint over several hours, then photographed in a demanding, choreography-driven shoot where endurance is part of the work. Using the dancer’s body as a structural matrix, the images apply rotational symmetry and calibrated repetition to transform technique and movement into geometric form. Each composition originates from a single captured pose, then is mirrored and rotated into a sculptural, mandala-like configuration that preserves the tension of that moment in time. Inspired by early experiences at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the series reflects the convergence of artistry, athleticism, and rigor. The gold surface reinforces themes of radiance and permanence, amplifying contrast and structure while highlighting the ballerina’s balance of strength and delicacy.
