Babafemi Ogunkanmbi is a passionate multimedia Artist with high sense of humor from cradle till moment, has a Bachelor of Fine and Applied Arts Education (B.A Ed.) at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria and also a Master of Art (M.A) Fine and Applied Arts from Tai Solarin University of Education, Nigeria. Born and Hailed in Oyo State, Southwest Nigeria over three decades ago. Babafemi has participated in numerous Art Competition and exhibition both National and International level. His arts over the years revolve on three themes, 'Equity, Love and Justice'. he get inspired by the culture and environment he find himself, which Propelled him to explore his art with a good blend of African traditional motifs and lines in his arts.

Artist Statement

Currently, Babafemi Chooses to make use of lines (scarifications) which were scared all through the body of his art which is an embodiment of origin and uniqueness from his family lineages that serves as beauty and social identity. He is curious to see his art as agent of 'social change'. His art is an expression of love to the larger society and the story around it make more people around the world endeared towards art and culture. Babafemi is an agent of 'social change', encouraging responsible culture towards the consciousness of black people's true self and abilities with the mission to make everyone see that we live to make the world more livable and sustainable for ourselves and generations yet unborn. He painted with acrylic on canvas and his inspired to make art that holds strong memories. Artistic Quote: Art is a driver of social change.
