Biography

Bèfè The Mad Bèfè is a multidisciplinary artist, dancer, and digital performance artist who has been expressing himself through the performing arts for over twenty five years. By bringing together dance, acting, music, and visual arts, he has developed a distinctive artistic language. In both traditional and digital performances, he uses the body as a powerful narrative tool that challenges the boundaries of contemporary art. His artistic journey began with dance, where he earned awards through competitions, and later expanded into acting with notable projects. In recent years, he has been producing work internationally within the fields of digital art and digital performance. His works explore how movement and narrative transform in the digital age, often carrying strong philosophical layers. Bèfè’s performances and artworks have been exhibited on thousands of screens across approximately fourteen countries throughout the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. His work has reached audiences in cities such as New York, London, Madrid, Rome, Athens, Brussels, Amsterdam, Bucharest, Lisbon, Istanbul, Tokyo, New Delhi, Bali, and Cape Town. Works including BACTERIA and David MMXXIV have received significant international attention and resonated across diverse cultural contexts. Continuously evolving his artistic practice, Bèfè aims to bring performance art to wider audiences by using the body and movement as universal narrative elements within the digital space. His digital performances offer a boundary expanding, multi layered experience for audiences, collectors, and art professionals alike. Challenging traditional definitions of art, Bèfè continues to create work that embraces freedom, multidisciplinary production, and a global artistic vision.

Artist Statement

As a post-disciplinary artist, my practice explores the body as a living narrative space between the physical and the digital. I use movement as a universal language to question identity, control, and freedom across different artistic forms. Rather than offering fixed meanings, my performances invite presence, sensation, and transformation. For me, art is not something to be observed, but something to be experienced.

Exhibitions

Beginning with a series of exhibitions presented in collaboration with Art Crash Gallery, my works have been exhibited across multiple international locations. These exhibitions have taken place in New York, London, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Brussels, Madrid, Rome, Athens, Bucharest, Istanbul, Tokyo, New Delhi, Bali, and Cape Town, as well as in Australia through national and multi city screening programs. In addition to Art Crash Gallery, my work has also been presented in collaboration with other galleries and curatorial platforms, reaching diverse audiences across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Education

I do not have a formal conservatory education. My artistic training has developed through the stage, the studio, and the flow of life. I have deep respect for academic knowledge and discipline, yet I chose a path shaped by experience, observation, and continuous creation. Experiencing art and life directly, openly, and freely remains my primary source of inspiration.
