"EL DUENDE" by Andrades Explore Mondoir Studio Medium: óleo sobre madera Dimensions: 61 x 64 cm Year: 2024 Price: $1475.00 USD Status: available Representa una visión abstracta de un duende casi inapreciable entre unas rocas iluminadas que representan la vida misma. Why collect this work?“EL DUENDE” hides its named creature within a crowded structure of colour, turning recognition into a contest between isolated clues and the whole painted field. The artist characterises his broader practice as figurative and deliberately varied in style. In this work, that self-description supports a search for depiction, but does not settle where the figure begins or ends. The photograph shows yellow concentrated at lower left, a red central mass, and blue forms along the right. Near the centre, white and pink planes resemble folded limbs or a face, yet surrounding angular marks repeatedly interrupt that reading.Catalogue metadata records oil on wood, completed in 2024. This material pairing can accommodate opaque colour blocks and fine linear accents, although the photograph cannot establish exact colour, surface texture, layering, or physical depth. The catalogue description identifies a scarcely perceptible duende among illuminated rocks. The painting can therefore anchor comparison between titled figuration and abstraction, showing how verbal identification changes what otherwise fragmented forms appear to depict.
