Holy Cow by Alina O'Dwyer
Medium: oil painting

Year: 2021

This painting is inspired by my visit to India, where the cow is revered as a sacred animal. I am drawn to creating bright and colorful artwork that captures the beauty of everyday life, and in this piece, the cow is depicted in vivid hues and adorned with abstract patterns. Through art, I aim to illustrate how familiar subjects can be transformed and perceived differently. In my body of work, I strive to explore the intricate relationship between humanity and wildlife. By portraying wildlife in art and addressing ecological issues, I hope to contribute to educational efforts and imbue my artistic journey with a deeper purpose. This piece is a mixed media painting, utilizing acrylic and oil paints on canvas. Also i used pallet knife to make special structure on this art. It measures 50 by 50 cm and has been coated with a layer of professional varnish to protect it from sunlight and dust.

For me freedom lives in the nature. Humanity should put wild nature before the next oil pipeline or hight-rise apartment block.
