In the center of 'Future Under Threat', in the form of a young girl, a beautiful, untouched landscape unfolds — a vision of the living nature that exists within every human being. This central image invites us to remember that each of us is inseparably part of nature itself, and with it comes the duty to preserve our world for future generations. Yet surrounding this fragile image are scenes of destruction. A devastated city after war, skies echoing the apocalyptic tones of The Last Day of Pompeii, figures in yellow suits working with radioactive waste, and the ever-present piles of garbage born from modern consumption — all reflect the countless ways in which humanity endangers its own future. In these fragments, even the threat of nuclear war is evoked, with the chilling suggestion that if it were to occur, only the most resilient creatures, like cockroaches, might survive. Amid this tension between hope and devastation, a yurt appears — a symbol of Kazakh heritage, simplicity, and harmony with the land. It represents the past, when life was lived closer to nature, but also serves as a warning: if we abandon preservation, the past may be all that remains, while the future becomes unlivable. 'Future Under Threat' is both a reflection and an appeal. It shows us that our choices determine whether the untouched beauty within us will flourish or vanish. To protect nature is to protect ourselves, our culture, and the generations yet to come.
