Thank you For The Wonderful Destiny by Takashi Murakami Explore Mondoir Collection Medium: Inkjet Print on Photo Rag 308 Paper Dimensions: 60 x 60 cm Edition production year: 2021 Price on request Status: available Why collect this work?A dense circular field turns the smiling flower from a simple emblem into a crowd, making cheerfulness feel abundant yet visually insistent. The supplied artist profile identifies smiling flowers as a recurring Murakami motif. Here, shifts in scale, petal colour and facial detail complicate that familiar emblem, giving standardized grins small degrees of difference. In the photograph, a large rainbow-petalled blossom anchors hundreds of smaller flowers. Forms overlap tightly and are cut by the circular boundary, so no surrounding ground relieves the accumulation; individuality persists, but only within the pressure of the group.Catalogue metadata records a 2021 inkjet print on Photo Rag 308 paper, measuring 60 by 60 cm. This medium permits a complex image to be transferred as a print, although the photograph cannot establish the paper’s texture, exact colours or physical condition. The work is a focused study of how repetition alters emotional signs. Encountered at close range, its many near-identical smiles allow happiness to register simultaneously as buoyant expression, graphic convention and collective demand.
