Holiday - Thailand by KAWS Explore Mondoir Collection Medium: Vinyl with fluorescent moon component Dimensions: 28 x 6 x 9 cm Year: 2025 Price on request Status: available Why collect this work?A small figure carries both a childlike companion and a pale sphere, compressing burden, care, and cosmic scale into one compact sculptural image. KAWS’s X-eyed character language removes conventional facial expression. Here, meaning shifts toward posture: lowered head, encircling hands, and the smaller body clinging from behind. In the photograph, near-total blackness joins the two figures into one dense silhouette. The white sphere and glimpse of blue below interrupt that mass, directing attention to what is held and protected. The documented vinyl permits rounded, toy-like forms and repeated contours. Its fluorescent moon component may become more visually pronounced under suitable illumination, although that effect cannot be established from this image.Dated 2025 and measuring 28 by 6 by 9 centimetres, the sculpture is a focused case study in how collectible-figure conventions can carry an ambiguous scene of attachment, weight, and guardianship.
